Gratitude is a matter of the heart

How is your heart looking, grateful or murmuring? Every mental health and wellbeing treatment, strategy and coping systems or mindfulness encourage gratitude as part of self-healing and living. Gratitude plays a very important role in the healing of the inner being.
You have heard me speak about being grateful every morning for the gift of life. I am grateful because I know that when I am awake and breathing it is because God’s mercies has been deposited into me again for that day. It is a beautiful morning today because I can start again, create something new and be available for someone today.

Isaiah 25:1 reads:
Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness, you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.

What does that mean for you?
For me these verses mean God is a God of order, being alive today was planned for me, what I will do today He knows, I have to be intentional in inviting the Holy Spirit to be my lead and guide because that is why He remained with us when Jesus went back to the Father where we sit with Him spiritually on the right hand of the Father. I can trust in the strength of the Lord and His protection. Therefore, my every day I say my gratitude it is my form of Praise. My praise is my worship because there are so many things God has done in my life which even in my selfishness I have chosen to forget. Do you have a praise which you can let me know?

Then Psalms 28:7 reads:
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.

Everyone has done things in life that they aren’t proud of. While moments of regret are normal, living with intense feelings of regret for a prolonged period of time is not a norm that should be embraced. When I became born again and the word said I am a new creation, at first, I didn’t understand it and would mull over the past. Then when I kept going into the word of God I was assured of my salvation.

Eventually you must come to a place where you recognize that you deserve to move forward with your life, make peace with yourself, and offer yourself some kindness. While there are many ways to pursue the journey of self-kindness the answer is within you. Be kind to yourself, leave the past behind and embrace the power of now and look ahead and forge on.

The power is in you to create that which you want because it has been granted for you already a long time ago. There are a few of the most effective means of showing yourself kindness so that you can feel peace within. These are gratitude, forgiveness of self and others, embracing your humanity, caring for yourself, staying within a community and celebrating yourself and your achievements.
